From “Should I go keto?” to “Are protein shakes actually necessary?”, clients often come with an avalanche of diet-related questions. That’s exactly why personal trainers—whether just starting out or years into the game—should understand basic nutrition science. Now, we’re not saying every trainer should become a certified dietitian. Far from it. But understanding how food fuels performance? That’s a must . And with so many sports nutrition courses now available, there’s really no excuse not to have a foundational grasp on the subject.
